Regional Forum

Thanks to the Regional Committee

For getting the site back up. For supporting this site. For the Conventions and all that is done. I want to make ammends for my post below asking "what does Region do for us."

A voice inside and a few outside said "ask not what the Region does for you. But, what can you do for the Region." Thanks to those outside voices, one in particular known as Eric B.

I will come to the next Regional Meeting if God wills. My intent will be constructive and positive a perspective I hope to keep.

It would be helpful to know what positions are open and I will make sure our Area gets the list,  read more »

I'd like to know when and where is the next Regional Meeting?

I am going to come to the Regional meeting in a few months and have plans to bring as many ASC members as I can talk into the trip. Maybe Eric B. who is the Regional Treasurer and a GSR in our area can help me with this. Maybe we can get some to take the open positions.

I may offer a side trip to Costco (my wife calls it Costxo spa) to convince some to come. One has offered that that woulod get her there.

Promise we will come in peace. :)

ACCOUNTABILITY, the principle of the 5th Concept

What does it mean? I like to know what words mean when I throw them around. We come to NA and we learn the "lingo" and then we talk the lingo, but we are clueless what the words mean.
I'd like to know. I'm accountable for my actions; I'm accountable for fulfilling my commitments. But I'm learning that words in the rooms mean something different than they do outside the rooms.

What does the Region do for Area's

Outside of overseeing the Convention Committtee and Insurance coverage I know of nothing the Region does for our Area.

When I was in another Region they put on 4 Region activities per year besides a Convention.

Activities seem much more important for a rural area as I am in than the city area I used to be in.

I'd like to know if other Area's feel they are served and how?

World Service Conference Agenda Report

We are disappointed in our Region for not getting out the CAR information earlier. Our Area meeting was held today and we had no information about where or when our GSR's are to meet to go over the CAR material, which is 122 pages. We just found it and have posted all of it on the Morongo Basin Area Forum.

We still don't know when and where the meeting to go over the CAR material will be held. We are very close to the deadline here so please get with it!

Sincerely,
Phil & Sally

ARE "EXPECTATIONS PREMEDITATED RESENTMENTS?"

NA has demonized certain words (expectations, resentments, judgments) and give them new meanings. Expectation means to hope for; to look forward to. And the word hope means a person or thing in which expecatations are center. Interesting the crossover. In NA we say that "Expectations are premeditated resentments." But are they? I expect a meeting will provide some experience, strength and hope. I hope that a meeting will provide some experience, strength and hope.
I expect things will get better; I hope that things will get better; I have faith that they will.  read more »

Do We Respect Our Elders?

Recently I heard a discussion why they elderly (those over 70) turn to religious instituions for comfort and companionship. One rabbi stated that at temple, the elderly felt respected for their age and wisdom garnered from their years of living. They felt comfortable amongst other people of similar years and respect from those who were younger.  read more »

How can we serve you?

How can we serve you? It's a question that some might say we don't ask enough.

So here's your opportunity. Let us know what the California Inland Region of NA can do to better serve your needs as a recovering addict, the needs of your group, or the needs of your Area.

Regional Office

I would like comments Pro and Con concerning our regional office and the need or lack of need for one. My personal belief is that at this time it is not prudent use of NA funds. Our Region meets to often and we spend way to much money on having an office that is used for only several hours a month.
