CIRCNA X: Take Our Inventory

Did you attend CIRCNA X this year?

Let the Convention Committee know what you liked about CIRCNA X and/or what you'd like to see changed or added for next year's convention.

CIRNA X convention

Great speaker friday night. Great Interactive Workshop, more!
I just happen to sit down for coffee with an Area Outreach Chair "cookies & meeting crasher" and he was very talkative & informative.
I would have like to have crossed paths with more Area & Regional service members & chairs to discuss local issues and solutions but I have no idea how the convention committee could accomplish that.
Accomodations - I stayed at the adjoining Hilton "next door" for Palm Springs that seemed like half a mile.
I have lodged both at the convention (immersed in it) and nearby and like both. Great idea to have two (2) hotels for accomodations, one on-site and one nearby.
Too bad about undersized main speaker space. I am not into video feeds. I think we have similar problems in San Diego.
Merchandise seemed a little scant, but if I want a T-shirt I will be sure to pre-register.

CIRNA X

I have been blessed to attend all of the CIRNA Conventions. X was as great as always. I have been to many conventions including some World Conventions. No matter what CIRNA is always a great time. Thank you committee!!!! I must say I didn't like the Hotel as much this time. Last year the Westin was fantastic. The only problem with it was it was so far out of the way. For those who did not have transportation, it was very inconvenient. However, the facility was fantastic.
It sure is a shame we can't use the Riveria, but ya know if nothing changes, nothing changes. God has a better plan. Instead of complaining about it, I think I will join the committee, if they would be so gracious as to have me, and be apart of the next decade of CIRNA. Thanks to each and everyone of you that have made the best convention in town possible for all of us year after year. Thanks Again and God Bless You! (oh yeah he did, he brought you to NA)

They did it again!!!

I wanna give lots of love and lots of props to the covention committee!! It takes alot to do what all of you do!! Thank you soooo much!!! I had an awesome time this year and done things I never done.... Dancing when your clean is awesome!

The Friday night speaker was the best speaker there... she rocks!! I believe if you have something bad to say about the covention you should get involved and become a part of instead of running your mouth......... Get into action and shut the FRONT door!!!!!

Convention

I am not going to put up a "the convention was great, but..." posting. So everything was not to everybody's 100% liking. What is?? Everything worked out fine. Many people made many new friends, reconnected with old friends and fellowshiped until dawn. I personally thought the hotel staff was incredible. Funny how when you treat a working person with dignity respect and understanding, that they respond in the same manner (hats off to Kirk the hardest working bell person ever). Overall, one of the best conventions I have ever been to...and I've been to alot. I loved the convention being in one building, centrally located around the pool, and the hotel being dedicated to NA only. Sharing a hotel with the general public (normies) i think might not be a good idea. The hotel at the Florida convention was not 100% NA and I felt bad for the guy trying to nurse his beer at the pool with 300 people looking at him like "WTF?!?!?!)
Great job, I love you all....AD, Temecula

Awesome! More space please.

The Womens Meeting had the best speakers! We just needed twice as much room. Women do recover! I loved it all. Great hotel. We did need a bigger room for the marathon meeting too.

Loved it... But where was the coffee?

Hey, great job everyone! The convention was awesome, and I personally didn't have any problem with the hotel. In fact, I thought the staff were extremely courteous and seemed happy to have us there the entire weekend.

My only complaint... NO COFFEE.

I think you could have redirected some funds from something else and had at least some coffee throughout the weekend. Seriously, how 'Hospitable' is the Hospitality room without coffee? I would happily give up any of the extras in my registration package to help pay for coffee.

In fact, here's a list of all the things I didn't use, that you could put toward coffee next year:

- Backpack
- Pen
- Magnet
- Fan
- Dances
- Karaoke
- Pool

Is there a registration package that just includes meetings and coffee? Cause that's what I really want.

The convention rocked it was

The convention rocked it was a great turnout. however the hotel was a bomb. the people that worked there were not as polite as i thought they would be. The rooms were like a high priced motel 6 but thats just my opinion. I have to say though that the commitee did an outstanding job!!!!!!!! I am really looking forward to next year. Thank you for making it another memorable convention!!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merchandise Room

I was disappointed there were no stickers in the merchandise room this year. I also feel that the selection was limited.

no coffee that sucked

i dont like conventions that has no coffe [...] every convention has coffee iv been to lots of conventions i never heard of not servrering coffee thats crazy in my book get real palm springs conventionif i new that they weernt servering coffee i wont not had come maybe next year they take it serious and get coffee next year

convention

First of all let me say thanks for all the hard work you put into organizing the convention. As a member of EIE activities committee for 8 years I understand the planning that is involved.

With that said, I need to state my concerns:
1. I was so upset with the women's meeting and how small the room was compared to the men's. I know in the past at the Riveria the ballroom was divided into hald to accomodate the mens and womens meeting. That is a meeting that i looked forward to and didnt get to attend. I gave up my seat for someone with less time.

Also, I didnt get the same spiritual feeling that I usually get after leaving the convention. I think I was too stressed on where to smoke, and if I could or couldnt bring this drink over there or go through this door or that door. I know those were the hotels rules.......and the no coffee in the Hospitality room.....14k was just off the hook... I wonder if you could of had an outside vendor provide the coffee?

I hope that the convention will be able to go back to the Riveria soon!!!!!!

Interactive Workshop

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Interactive Workshop Saturday morning at the convention.

Here's a quick breakdown of the workshop:

  • At its fullest, there were approximately 80 participants
  • On the workshop booklet, we made it through all 12 Steps (but ran out of time for the Traditions)
  • We received feedback forms from 45 participants - thanks so much! Responses were overwhelmingly positive, and we got some great suggestions for next year.

If you want to learn more about Interactive Workshops, didn't keep your workshop booklet, or want to copy any of the material we used for your own Interactive Workshop, download the workshop booklet.

If you enjoyed the Interactive Workshop and would like to get involved in hosting one or more Workshops for CIRCNA XI in 2009, I encourage you to get involved with the Programming Sub-committee. Elections will be held in August and the Sub-committee should start meeting regularly by September.

cirna convention

i think the hotel could have been better; while i realize this one was good for the attached convention center, i still feel the Riveria would be better, or mebbe even the Westin.
One of the glitches we experienced was: we didnt get the room promised, and had to wait two hours to get into the room (first time ive ever waited at any convention for a room). irritating

Great job however...

My hat's off to all involved in the CIRNA X Palm Springs convention. You guys worked hard and did a great job!

My only concern is whether or not we'll be using the same facility next year. The consensus from the South Coast Area is that the facility was kind of "dumpy" and the staff's service was "disrespectful".

If the event is held there next year I'm sure we'll all still attend, but our vote would be to have it elsewhere.

Area Chair SCANA

Wow what a rush!

I am part of South Coast and do not agree with the Area Chair's comments. I thought that this was a great experience and being a member of Activities I can only imagine how much work goes into the planning of an event like this. Thank you all for your very hard work. What a memorable event.
