CIRNA Web Policies
Approved 12-2-2007
CIRNA Web Policies: Introduction
These policies are a work in progress, and should not be construed as the complete policies of the California Inland Region of NA (CIRNA). This information is provided for those who may have questions regarding choices CIRNA has made about the delivery of information via cirna.org. These policies should also be used by CIRNA Webmasters as guidelines for the treatment and distribution of content on cirna.org.
Purpose
The purpose of cirna.org is to provide information and resources covering all aspects of the California Inland Region of NA including, but not limited to, its Areas, meetings, activities and service committees.
Scope of Information
The California Inland Region has decided to limit the scope of information provided on cirna.org to content which pertains specifically to CIRNA and its member Areas. Just as meeting directories focus on a specific Area or Region of NA, this site is intended to focus specifically on the California Inland Region.
- Information and content presented relates to CIRNA or its member Areas.
- Information for those new to NA or who think they might have a problem with drugs.
- www.na.org is provided as the single point of reference for all other NA information not directly pertaining to CIRNA.
- Non-CIRNA information such as outside activities, conventions or links to other sites (not including www.na.org) will not be provided on this site.
A visitor to this site should be able to:
- Identify, from the home page, a clear pathway to the information they are seeking.
- Understand the general bounds of CIRNA (larger cities) and its areas.
- Have direct access to as much of the site's content as possible.
- Have meaningful descriptions and cues for links.
Editorial Responsibility and Exclusion of Specific Content
Access to content on the web is much less controlled than any other media, and care must be exercised in examining the information that will be placed on cirna.org. The CIRNA Webmaster is required to limit the inclusion of specific content on cirna.org as follows:
- No profanity (unless specifically used in the name of a meeting).
- No sexually suggestive or explicit content.
- No content which depicts needles, paraphernalia, or the usage of drugs.
- No racist, sexist or inflammatory content.
- No personal phone numbers or personal email addresses (except as included on flyers/brochures).
- No personally identifying information (other than first names and last initials).
- No photographs of groups or individuals (even if faces are obscured or altered).
- No content which expresses an opinion about any outside issue.
Accuracy of Information
While the CIRNA Webmaster is responsible for updating the information on cirna.org, much of the actual content is provided by and the responsibility of the Areas, Meetings and/or Service Committee Members. Inaccurate or outdated information should be brought to the attention of the Webmaster as soon possible.
