Our Zone, Western States Zonal Forum is putting together a Power Point presentation to be presented at the Conference in April and the deadline for pictures is December! Please contact me to provide picture files from our conventions, our meetings, our region, anything that is CIRNA, we need your help.
The Conference Agenda Report -or CAR- will be available on NA.org in December and available for viewing on the web site and also printed copies for sale in mid December.
Neither the RDA nor I were able to attend the WSZF “experimental” meeting in Fresno due to work related impediments. Our RDA was unable to get the time off, and I had to take a crash course the same weekend to prepare for a grueling state exam. I have a new career and the state exam was that very Monday.
The notes, from the WSZF that were forwarded to me indicate that a good portion of the meeting was spent on determining if it is a good idea to move the WSZF to the WSLD. That this discussion took place - on Friday prior to anyone being able to determine, based on their participation at the event which lasted the entire weekend - is somewhat saddening in that it more so seems to reflect an agenda as opposed to truly trying to experience something and then deciding if it is in fact a good move. Obviously to determine if something works and is beneficial, you would need to experience it, process it and then be able to make an informed decision. Furthermore, the notes indicate and I confirmed that the WSZF met for only 1 hour, from 8:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, while we had previously agreed that it would be 4 hours, as I had communicated to this body, and for me it simply reinforces my view that we as a Zone had no business undertaking this supposed “experiment”.
As your RD I will continue to do all possible to represent CIRNA and make decisions based first and foremost on what’s best for our region, while being cognizant of our traditions, concepts, our group consensus and guidance from my loving God.
I am looking forward to the Conference Agenda Report which should be out this month, and ideally would like to have an event sometime in December to be able to present details to all CIRNA members and especially to the GSR’s so that we can get input and a read on how our members feel about the motions etc. However with the timeline it may not be practical to have an event in December properly prepared and so I ask for guidance and input.
